Waltham Cross Station  
Waltham Cross Station

Looking down to Waltham Cross and Abbey Station from the road bridge. This train is on the line that goes to Hertford and Bishops Stortford. When the station first opened in 1840 the platforms were the other side of the road. They were transferred to the south side in 1890. Between 1840 and 1890 there was a level crossing before the road bridge was built. This picture c1930.
