This picture was taken when the Vicar of Waltham Abbey came to make a presentation to Richard Clarke, who had won a photographic competition sponsored by Bywaters of Waltham Cross. This event was organised by Mr Foster and involved children across the Waltham Abbey Schools. Richard was presented with a new camera. When he left school he went on to work in the field of photography. The back row from left to right, shows Paul Sullivan, Mark Wilson and myself (Mandy Taylor), who were all 15 at the time. I was a runner-up in this competition, and still have the somewhat 'uninspiring' photo - taken in the Rose Gardens in Waltham Abbey. I remember thinking it was quite good at the time! |
